This workshop will teach the basics of innovative night sky photography, including planning, shooting and post-production.  There will be a maximum of 8 participants.

The workshop will be structured at a steady pace to ensure everyone has a full understanding of how the techniques are implemented to give professional standard images, every time. It will be suitable for beginner and intermediate photographers, though you will need to be able to operate manual camera mode.

The workshop will commence with an initial meeting taking place before dark, enabling time for a small ‘meet and greet’ session to get to know each other before working on our first compositions and preparing for our night’s work.

The group will be photographing using moonlight and there will also be a brief opportunity to shoot in darkness.

During the workshop there will be the opportunity to shoot the iconic Portland Bill lighthouse.

Practical matters

In order to maximise the chances of good weather, the workshop will take place on EITHER Friday 1 June or Saturday 2 June.  The choice of date will be made by Ollie at short notice before the 1st.  IF YOU BOOK THIS EVENT, YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE ON BOTH DATES.  No refunds will be given unless the event is cancelled altogether by Ollie because of the weather.

NB The timings above are approximate and will also be confirmed nearer the time.

Light fitness level will be required, and coastal path descents and ascents over uneven surfaces will need to be negotiated in the dark.
