Photo-Editorial for Photobooks

21 October 2019

09:30 - 18:30

RPS House
337 Paintworks
Bath Road

We regret that we have had to postpone this workshop. We hope to run it early in 2020 and if you would like to be notified of the new date please email

Following on from the BOP photobook festival this workshop is designed for photographers who would like to see how their images could be presented in photobook form. This workshop is a series of one to one sessions that deep dive into the process of photo-editorial as the first fundamental stage of photobook design. You will focus on editorial, image sequencing and how to approach image pairings to conceptualise a book design customised for, and inspired by, your work before moving onto suggested formats for essays, captions and typography.

By the end of this workshop you will have an understanding of the potential for your images within the book format as well as a vision for how your current project could be presented as a successful photobook.

Places are limited to 7 and early booking is advised.

To supply in advance:

30-100 images. 1500pxl jpg along the long edge together with captions in the file names where appropriate, together with a short (max. 250 words) written introduction to your project. We will print these out for the workshop.

To bring:

One or more photobooks that influence or inspire your work.
